This is the title of the film that tries to take the amazing story lived by 33 miners in the North of Chile back in 2010 into the big screen.

For those of you who didn’t hear about this. The 33 miners were trapped inside a mine in Copiapó.

They were trapped 700 meters (2,300 ft) underground and about 5 kilometers (3 mi) from the mine’s entrance via spiraling underground service ramps.

We had just had to suffer the 2010 Chile earthquake and its associated tsunami less than six months before the accident.

After all this finally finished and happily, I remember the miners became sort of “celebrities”, they were invited to every single talk show and news station, but they signed with Discovery Channel I think, and they were not allowed to answer any questions on the accident and their long 69 days underground. Together with this, rumours began to appear that they’d be making a movie about them.

Years after the accident, we started seeing celebrities like Antonio Banderas in the North of our country. They were actualy making a movie about los 33. Today, after 5 years after the accident, the official trailer has been released for the world to see it 😀

I’m pleased to see many important actors and actresses from Spain, Mexico and America. (A little sad though that I don’t see any actors or actresses from Chile. :< )

Ps: I have to say Antonio Banderas plays a great “Super Mario” (nickname for one of the most enthusiastic miners.)

Enjoy!
